Detailed design proposal submitted

The new Maitland Hospital project team achieved a significant milestone in July, submitting the documents for the Stage 2 State Significant Development application.

This process is a requirement for the project and seeks to gain approval for what is essentially the external detail of the hospital.  The application is submitted to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.

Information contained in the submission includes the eight story hospital building with basement and plant levels, internal roads, car parking, helipad, signage, site landscaping and utility and service connections.

The proposal also includes the façade and the artist impressions of the proposed interior concepts for the new hospital.  These interior impressions will be further developed in consultation with staff and other key stakeholders.

The project requires Stage 2 approval to enable progression into the main works stage. Main works is the stage of the project which builds the hospital.
