The integrated new Maitland Hospital project team consists of key personnel from Health Infrastructure, Hunter New England Health and various organisations working collaboratively to deliver the best result for the local community.

Health Infrastructure

Health Infrastructure oversees the planning, design, procurement and construction of health capital works in NSW. A diverse and complex arm of NSW Health, Health Infrastructure brings together experts in health planning, architecture, engineering, building, town planning, construction, surveying, assets, communications and change management.

Health Infrastructure contributes longer term benefits to the community. Investment in health infrastructure leads to so much more including the creation of jobs, increased opportunities for local businesses and a healthier workforce overall. 


The NSW Government has engaged construction company Multiplex to build the new Maitland Hospital. Multiplex is a premier, global construction company which has developed a strong reputation for construction in the health sector. Recent projects in NSW include the $900 million Westmead Redevelopment, the St George Hospital Redevelopment in Kogarah, the South East Regional Hospital in Bega and the Byron Central Hospital. The new Maitland Hospital will be the sixth hospital Multiplex has delivered for the NSW Government in recent years. 

With its site team made up of local residents, Multiplex is passionate about local community engagement and it will be playing an active role in the community, both in the delivery of the Hospital and beyond.  

Multiplex is leading the design team for the project which includes:

  • Project Architect - BVN
  • Structural, Civil and Facade Engineer - TTW 
  • Electrical, Information Communications Technology, Audio Visual and Vertical Transport consultant - JHA
  • Mechanical, Medical Gases, Pneumatic Tube and ESD consultant - EMF Griffiths
  • Hydraulic and Fire consultant - Warren Smith & Partners

Architect - BVN Architecture

BVN Architecture is an award-winning architectural firm with extensive experience designing hospitals and health facilities. 


CBRE Project Management draws from a deeply experienced staff base, creating project teams based upon the specific skillsets required for the unique requirements of each assignment.  

COST Manager - Altus Group

Altus Group are construction cost management experts who collaborate with clients, stakeholders and project teams to empower sound decisions on all cost matters. Altus is supporting the new Maitland Hospital project by managing the $470 million funding allocation.
